Meet Our Founders
Forestrat was created by experienced professionals with deep expertise in trading infrastructure, quantitative research, and financial technology. Having built and scaled mission-critical systems for leading investment firms, our founders understand the challenges portfolio managers face, and built Forestrat.AI to solve them.
Anand Chavan is a seasoned technology leader and entrepreneur with over 18 years of experience in fintech, hedge funds, investment banking, and software consulting. He specializes in AI-powered data systems, large-scale information extraction, and operational excellence. Anand founded Foreseer, a generative AI platform for data management, which was acquired by S&P Global in 2022. He has led major initiatives at UBS, JP Morgan, and Amaranth, optimizing trading infrastructure and building real-time financial systems. Anand is passionate about solving complex problems at the intersection of AI and finance, promoting lean, collaborative teams that drive innovation, automation, and data-driven decision-making at scale.
Anand Chavan
Jacob Kaippallimalil has over 30 years of experience in quantitative and electronic trading. He began at Morgan Stanley, developing core data infrastructure for quantitative trading and real-time market data, and was an early member of ETL (Equity Trading Labs), which built electronic trading platforms and ran global quantitative strategies. He later led trading businesses at Merrill Lynch, BAML and UBS, managing proprietary trading, automated options market-making, and retail equities, overseeing technology, strategy, execution, and risk. At Schonfeld Strategic Advisors, Jacob led the Systematic Trading Platform, supporting 25+ PM teams with data, tools, and operational support. He also advised fintech leaders including SR Labs and Beacon on strategy.
